High-Tech Military Vehicle Rides on Water and Land

Providing supplies and life saving materials to disaster stricken areas has proved to be difficult and sometimes impossible in the past. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is hoping to change that with their new developmental water vehicle. The captive air amphibious transporter can ride on water and land - including sandy beaches, mud, ice fields as well as the potential to climb sea walls - making it invaluable to regions hit by tsunamis, hurricanes and earthquakes.

Similar to metal tank treads, its large treads are inflatable, allowing it to float on the water and work like tires while on land. Another useful function is the ability to be taken apart and stored upon regular cargo vessels that can act as a mobile base for providing cargo or troops to the coasts of areas struck by devastation.
